Snohomish County Fire District 7 will receive four new custom-built medic vans in spring of next year.

The vans will include more safety features and a user-friendly set-up for firefighters. The new vans will replace older ones that the department has scheduled for replacement and reassignment as part of a long-term plan.

This program was established with regular tax revenues to replace apparatus at pre-determined intervals and keep the fleet of aid units, medic units and fire engines as current as possible. No additional taxes were asked for from the citizens to fund this plan.

District 7 awarded a bid to Braun Northwest of Chehalis to build the four new medic vans this fall. The vehicles are 2007 Ford E-450 chassis with a patient compartment built by Braun Northwest and are scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2007.

The district serves the city of Mill Creek and most surrounding areas.
