Fire District 1 responded to 249 calls the week of June 17-23. District 1 serves the neighborhoods of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Pioneer Trails and the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier.

June 17

Crews responded to 38 calls – 27 medical aid, six fire, two motor vehicle accidents, one illegal burn, one mutual aid and one other service.

Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at a home in the 4600 block of 158th Pl. SW at 10:18 a.m. The fire was confined to the stovetop, which was melted by the heat.

June 18

Crews responded to 22 calls – 15 medical aid, one fire, one automatic fire alarm, one motor vehicle accident, one investigation, one natural gas leak and one mutual aid.

At 10:32 p.m. firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment in the 3700 block of 148th St. SW. It turned out to be burnt food on the stove.

June 19

Crews responded to 38 calls – 29 medical aid, six motor vehicle accidents, one fire, one carbon monoxide alarm and one illegal burn.

Firefighters responded to a collision involving a motorcycle in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near 44th Ave. W. at 5:41 p.m. and transported one patient to Harborview Medical Center.

At 8:08 p.m. firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 22800 block of Cedar Way in Mountlake Terrace and transported one patient to Stevens Hospital.

June 20

Crews responded to 38 calls – 24 medical aid, one motor vehicle accident, one automatic fire alarm, two investigations, five fires, three mutual aid and two other services.

At 4:37 p.m. firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 4200 block of 164th St. SW. The fire was started by a barbecue on a back deck. All of the fire was on the exterior of the building and no one was injured.

June 21

Crews responded to 43 calls – 34 medical aid, five motor vehicle accidents, three automatic fire alarms and one other service.

Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision at 156th St. SW and 35th Ave. W at 12:10 p.m. One driver was trapped and firefighters had to extricate him. He was transported by paramedics to Providence Everett Medical Center. Two other patients were also transported to the hospital by private ambulance.

One car crashed into bushes at 216th St. SW and 66th Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace at 6:35 p.m. No one was injured.

June 22

Crews responded to 35 calls – 25 medical aid, six motor vehicle accidents, two fires, one automatic fire alarm and one illegal burn.

At 6:51 p.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving a car and a bicyclist in the 13800 block of Beverly Park Edmonds Road. One patient was transported to Providence Everett Medical Center.

June 23

Crews responded to 35 calls – 22 medical aid, three motor vehicle accidents, one investigation, one automatic fire alarm, two illegal burns, one wires down and five mutual aid.

At 12:40 p.m. firefighters responded to a four-car collision at 218th and Brier Road. One patient was transported to Stevens Hospital.
