Fire District 1

Fire District 1 responded to 240 calls the week of May 13-19. Fire District 1 serves the neighborhoods of Silver Firs, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake and the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier.

May 13

Crews responded to 27 calls – 22 medical aid, two fires, one motor vehicle accident, one mutual aid and one automatic fire alarm.

At 10 p.m. firefighters responded to a two-car collision at 148th St. SW and Highway 99 and transported two patients to Stevens Hospital.

May 14

Crews responded to 31 calls, including 21 medical aid, one investigation, four motor vehicle accidents, two fires, two mutual aid and one automatic fire alarm.

May 15

Crews responded to 34 calls, including 18 medical aid, three motor vehicle accidents, two investigations, three mutual aid, four fires, two automatic fire alarms and two other services.

At 8:35 a.m. firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 1400 block of 164th St. SW and transported one patient to Stevens Hospital.

At 4:14 p.m. firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a house in the 5200 block of 232nd St. SW in Mountlake Terrace. They arrived to find light smoke throughout the house. They discovered there had been a small fire in a trash can where a cigarette had been discarded.

At 6:06 p.m. firefighters responded to a two-car collision on the 220th St. SW overpass on Interstate 5 and transported one patient to Stevens Hospital.

May 16

Crews responded to 43 calls, including 29 medical aid, four motor vehicles, two fires, one investigation, three mutual aid, two automatic fire alarms, one illegal burn and one other service.

At 9:06 a.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving two cars and motorcycle at 132nd St. SE and Seattle Hill Road. One patient was transported by medic unit to Providence Everett Medical Center.

At 10:50 a.m. firefighters responded to and extinguished a pickup truck fire in the 11600 block of 56th Ave. SE.

May 17

Crews responded to 36 calls, including 26 medical aid, two motor vehicle accidents, two mutual aid, one fire, two wires down and three other services.

At 12:39 p.m. firefighters responded to and extinguished a fully involved car fire in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 just north of 128th St. SW.

At 3:56 p.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving two cars and a pickup truck at 45th Pl. W. and 228th St. SW and transported one patient by medic unit to Stevens Hospital.

May 18

Crews responded to 33 calls, including 23 medical aid, seven fires, two mutual aid and one investigation.

Firefighters responded to a car fire on shoulder of northbound Interstate 5 at 196th St. SW.

May 19

Crews responded to 36 calls, including 20 medical aid, seven motor vehicle accidents, one fire, one wires down, three automatic fire alarms, two mutual aid, one illegal burn and one other service.

At 4:27 p.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving a truck and a car in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, north of 164th St. SW. There were no injuries.

Lynnwood Fire Department

Lynnwood Fire Department responded to 104 calls for service during the week of May 12-18. Here are some of those incidents:

May 12

Fire crews responded to 23 calls, including 19 medical aid and four false alarm/service calls.

May 13

Fire crews responded to 18 calls, including 12 medical aid, one motor vehicle accident, two false alarm/service calls and three fire calls.

At 1:06 fire crew was dispatched to a car fire at 190th and 47th. On scene the front half of car was fully involved with fire. The damage was too severe to establish exact cause. Car was unattended and registered in Bothell. Lynnwood Police Department on scene to investigate. Car was towed at their request.

At 02:09 fire crew was dispatched to fire next to Applebee’s. On scene found smoldering bark fire next to the parking lot of Applebee’s. Numerous cigarette butts were found in area, fire was extinguished.

At 18:20 fire crew was dispatched to reported smoldering stump fire in the back of Hampton Inn. It was obvious the area was used by smokers and a soda can used as an ashtray. The fire was extinguished and nearby trees were wet down.

May 14

Fire crews responded to 9 calls, including seven medical aid, one false alarm/service call and one fire call.

At 18:14 fire crew was dispatched near the 3100 block of Alderwood Manor Park Way for juveniles burning on top of rocks. Reporting party states that the kids were in the gully by a pond and started the fire.

May 15

Fire crews responded to 12 calls, including 10 medical aid, 1 motor vehicle accident, and 1 fire call.

At 19:13 fire crew was dispatched to a Honey Bucket near play field at Meadowdale High School. Found Honey Bucket on south side of school, next to baseball field, very light smoke showing, extinguished with pump can, toilet paper on the roll was burning, cause unknown.

May 16

Fire crews responded to 16 calls, including 13 medical aid, one motor vehicle accident and two false alarm/service calls.

May 17

Fire crews responded to 16 calls , including eight medical aid, five false alarm/service calls and 3 motor vehicle calls.

May 18

Fire crews responded to 19 calls, including 12 medical aid, three motor vehicle accidents, three false alarm/service calls and one fire call.
