Fire District 1 responded to 226 calls the week of April 1-7. The district serves the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier and the neighborhoods of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop and Pioneer Trails.
April 29
Crews responded to 37 calls, including 19 medical aid, five motor vehicle accidents, two fires, three automatic fire alarms, two illegal burns, two wires down, two other services and two mutual aid.
At 4:30 a.m. firefighters responded to the 15000 block of 35th Avenue W. to assist a woman who had water pouring through her ceiling from the apartment above.
April 30
Crews responded to 26 calls, including 19 medical aid, one motor vehicle accident, two automatic fire alarms, one fire and three mutual aid.
At 5:23 p.m. firefighters responded to assist the resident of home in the 13900 block of Admiralty Way who reported water coming from her kitchen walls and the smoke coming from an electrical outlet.
May 1
Crews responded to 30 calls, including 20 medical aid, two mutual aid, three fires, one motor vehicle accident, three automatic fire alarms and one service call.
At 3:04 p.m. firefighters responded to a service station in the 200 block of 128th Street SW to assist a child who was locked in the bathroom.
May 2
Crews responded to 40 calls, including 31 medical aid, one fire, two automatic fire alarms, three mutual aid and three motor vehicle accidents.
At 4 a.m. firefighters responded to a fire in the clubhouse/office building of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of 128th Street SW. They quickly extinguished the fire and kept flames from spreading outside the office. No one was inside the building when the fire started. No one was injured. The loss is estimated at $90,000. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire was intentionally set and is pursuing several leads in the case.
At 8:36 p.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and sports utility vehicle at 220th Street SW and 44th Avenue W. in Mountlake Terrace. One patient was transported by medic unit to Stevens Hospital.
May 3
Crews responded to 36 calls, including 26 medical aid, two investigations, one dumpster fire, one automatic fire alarm, one natural gas leak investigation, three motor vehicle accidents and one mutual aid.
At 7:50 a.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a car at the 11th Place W. and 178th Street SW. The motorcyclist declined transport to the hospital.
May 4
Crews responded to 35 calls, including 25 medical aid, five fires, two automatic fire alarms, one motor vehicle accident and two investigations.
At 6:33 p.m. firefighters responded to 135th Place SW and 65th Avenue W. after a pedestrian was hit by a car. The patient was transported to Stevens Hospital.
At 8:02 p.m. firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at an apartment in the 4400 block of 212th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Oil cooking on the stove had ignited. Damage was minimal. One patient exposed to flames was transported to Stevens Hospital.
May 5
Crews responded to 44 calls, including 31 medical aid, five motor vehicle accidents, one fire, one illegal burn, two automatic fire alarms, two mutual aid and two other services.
One patient was transported to Evergreen Hospital by firefighters who responded to a two-car collision in the 400 block of 164th Street SW at 10:05 a.m.
