Fire District 1 responded to 249 calls the week of June 10 to June 16. Fire District 1 serves the neighborhoods of Silver Firs, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake and the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier. Here is a sample of those calls:

June 10

Fire crews responded to 37 calls, including 27 medical aid, one fire, two motor vehicle accidents, and two investigations.

June 11

Fire crews responded to 25 calls, including 18 medical aid, one motor vehicle accident and two fires.

At 1:50 a.m. firefighters responded to a one-car collision at Highway 99 and SR 525. There were no injuries.

June 12

Fire crews responded to 42 calls, including 33 medical aid, two motor vehicle accidents, one fire and one move-up for an engine company to cover a depleted station cluster.

At 5:34 p.m. firefighters responded to a small rubbish fire on top of a metal storage container behind a business in the 1900 block of 196th Street SW. The fire, which extended to a large tree, was quickly extinguished.

June 13

Fire crews responded to 35 calls, including 23 medical aid, one fire and five motor vehicle accidents.

Firefighters were called to the 22600 block of 56th Avenue W. in Mountlake Terrace where a car crashed into a house at 5:04 p.m. The car took out a pillar in front of the house and the hood of the car lodged into the structure. No one was injured.

June 14

Fire crews responded to 37 calls, including 24 medical aid, one fire, two motor vehicle accidents and one fuel spill.

At 2:07 p.m. firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at a house in the 200 block of 107th Street SW. Firefighters extinguished the fire. The fire was confined to the stove top and the cabinets above.

June 15

Fire crews responded to 32 calls, including 27 medical aid, three motor vehicle accidents and one illegal burn.

Firefighters responded to a one-car collision on the ramp from SR 525 to southbound Interstate 5 at 6:18 a.m. and transported one patient to Evergreen Hospital.

June 16

Fire crews responded to 41 calls, including 28 medical aid, six motor vehicle accidents and one fire.

At 3:34 a.m. firefighters responded to a report that a car crashed and landed upside down in the front yard of a home in the 21800 block of Oak Way in Brier.

At 8:14 a.m. firefighters responded to a collision involving a mini bus and a pick-up truck at 170th Place SW and North Road and transported one patient to Stevens Hospital.

At 12:14 p.m. firefighters responded to a car fire in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Restaurant in the 11900 block of Highway 99. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. No one was injured.
