The Edmonds Fire Department made 98 calls in and around Edmonds from Oct. 18 through 24, bringing the total calls for the year to 4,098.

Oct. 24

Medics were called out on 12 calls.

Oct. 23

Medics treated 12 patients and transported all 12 to Stevens Hospital including three people involved in a T-bone car accident in the 200 block of Highway 99. All three suffered injuries and were backboarded before being transported to Stevens.

Oct. 22

Medics responded to 15 calls, transporting 11 to local hospitals for further evaluations. One of the calls was tending to the driver of a single-car rollover on southbound I-5 north of 220th Street SW which landed in the ravine next to the inside lane. He was backboarded and transported to Stevens.

Oct. 21

Medics treated 12 patients, including two who were involved in a rear-end car collision in the 200 block of 78th Avenue W. The female driver of the rear car, who suffered a possible spine injury, was backboarded and transported to Stevens. A 6-year-old boy in the back seat of the rear-ended car complained of muscle pains and was also transported to Stevens.

Oct. 20

Medics treated 11 patients during the day including one of the drivers in a two-car accident in the 200 block on 76th Avenue W. Suffering from head and neck injuries, she was backboarded and transported to Stevens.

Firefighters responded to a reported house flooding in the 16700 block on 76th Avenue W. Upon arrival, the crew found the flood was caused by a broken water fixture in the kitchen sink. Rugs were also soaked in other rooms in the house and seepage into the crawl space under the house was discovered. While the crew vacuumed up the water the resident contacted a plumber and her insurance company.

Oct. 19

Medics were called out on 16 calls, with nine people being transported to Stevens Hospital for further evaluations. One of the patients treated was a young man hurt when he drove into a power pole and suffered back pains. He was backboarded and transported to Stevens.
