The Edmonds Fire Department made 108 calls in and around Edmonds from Nov. 1 through 7, bringing the total calls for the year to 4,298.
Nov. 7
Medics were called upon to treat 14 patients including a husband and wife who suffered knife wounds during an assault in the 23900 block of Highway 99. The man, who suffered severe lacerations to his leg, had his wounds dressed before being transported to the Harborview Medical Center. His wife, who also suffered knife injuries, was transported to Stevens Hospital. The EPD were on the scene investigating the case.
Nov. 6
Medics responded to 10 calls.
Firefighters were called upon to set up a helicopter landing zone at the Edmonds-Woodway High School where they transported the Airlift Northwest crew to Stevens Hospital to pick up a patient and return to the waiting helicopter for the return flight to Harborview Medical Center.
Nov. 5
Medics treated nine patients including a female driver of a car which struck a pole in the 100 block of 76th Ave. W. After being examined she was transported to Stevens Hospital for further evaluation.
Firefighters responded to three false alarms.
Nov. 4
Medics responded to 10 calls including two car accidents, both occurring on I-5. The first accident was a four-car collision at 220th Street SW where two of the cars wound up overturned in a ditch. Three patients were transported to local hospitals. The second accident involved three cars at 196th St. SW resulting in four patients being treated and transported to Stevens Hospital.
Nov. 3
Medics were called upon to treat nine patients.
Firefighters responded to a reported water problem at a residence in the 7700 block of 196th Street SW. The crew found the basement filling with sewage caused by the sewer line being plugged. The Edmonds Public Works was notified and eliminated the problem.
Nov. 2
Medics responded to 13 calls and transported nine to Stevens Hospital after administering their initial treatment.
Nov. 1
Medics treated 17 patients during the day, transporting 11 to local hospitals for further evaluations. Included in their calls was a reported multi-car accident in the 6600 block of 196th Street SW. One person involved in the accident had to be backboarded and transported to a local hospital.
Firefighters responded to a reported tree down causing adjoining wires to arc in the 8300 block of Olympic View Drive. The PUD was advised. Firefighters also responded to three false alarms.
