The Edmonds Fire Department made 92 calls in and around Edmonds from July 5 to 11, bringing the total calls for the year to 2,586.
July 11
Medics responded to 11 calls and transported nine to Stevens Hospital for further evaluation.
July 10
Medics were called out to treat 11 patients.
Firefighters responded to two false alarms.
July 9
Medics responded to seven calls.
Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in an apartment in the 7200 block on 213th Place SW. The alarm came from inside one of the units where nobody was home. The crew forced entry and found a smoldering pot left on a hot stove burner. It removed the pot, turned off the stove, vented the unit and contacted the complex’s private security officer.
July 8
Medics administered to 10 patients and transported eight to Stevens Hospital for further evaluation.
Firefighters responded to a reported illegal burn at a residence in the 17900 block on 75th Place W. The homeowner, who was burning yard waste, was told of the burn ban and promptly extinguished the fire.
July 7
Medics were called out to treat 12 patients which included tending to the driver and passenger involved in a motorcycle accident in the 22300 block on Highway 99. The motorcycle flipped over, causing the driver to suffer facial abrasions while the passenger was transported to Stevens Hospital with a hurt ankle.
Also included in the medic’s responses was a call to take care of patients involved in a two car accident in the 200 block on Highway 99, but there were no injuries.
Firefighters responded to a water flow problem in a warehouse in the 7100 block on 212th Street SW because of a malfunctioning sprinkler system. The crew shut down the water system and contacted a sprinkler company to make repairs.
July 6
Medics tended to 15 patients including administering aid to the driver and passenger involved in a rear-end car accident in the 22600 block on Highway 99. Both the driver and passenger of the rear-ended car suffered back and neck pains requiring both to be backboarded and transported to Stevens Hospital.
Firefighters responded to a reported beauty bark fire outside of Blockbuster Video in the 22800 block on 100th Avenue West. They found a patch of smoldering bark and soaked the area with a water extinguisher.
July 5
