The Edmonds Fire department made 77 calls in and around Edmonds from Aug. 2-8, bringing the total calls for the year to 2,965.

Firefighters responded to three false alarms.
Firefighters were called to set up a helicopter landing zone at the Edmonds-Woodway High School where they transported the Airlift Northwest crew to Stevens Hospital to pick up a patient and return to the waiting helicopter for the return flight to Harborview Medical Center. Aug. 7

Medics administered to 13 patients before transporting 10 to Stevens Hospital for further evaluation.

Firefighters were called out on two false alarms.
Aug. 3
Medics responded to four calls.
Firefighters were called out on three false alarms before being called upon to assist the Shoreline Fire Department in extinguishing a mobile home fire in the 19200 block on Aurora Avenue N. The mobile home was fully engulfed and the flames threatened to extend to a neighboring mobile home.
Aug. 2
Medics were called out to tend to 12 patients, 10 of whom were transported to Stevens Hospital for further evaluation. Tending to the driver of a T-bone accident in the 22100 block on Highway 99 was one of their calls. The driver, who suffered severe pain in his shoulder, was backboarded before being transported to Stevens.
Firefighters were called to a reported house fire in the 8300 block on 196th Street SW. When the crew arrived, the fire in the electrical panel, located in the garage, had already been extinguished by the resident. The panel was still “live,” however, and making popping noises until the Snohomish County PUD arrived and secured power to the house.
