Here are selected reports from Shoreline Fire Department:
Feb. 19
Firefighters responded to 16 calls, 14 of them for medical emergencies.
Feb. 18
Firefighters responded to 23 calls, 21 of them for medical emergencies, including one cardiac arrest.
Crews also responded to a vehicle fire in the 19600 block of Forest Park Drive.
Feb. 17
Firefighters responded to 14 calls, 12 of them for medical emergencies.
There was one automatic fire alarm, no fire, at a store.
Feb. 16
Firefighters responded 19 calls, 18 of them for medical emergencies.
The call of the day occurred at 5:03 a.m. when an expectant mother called 911 reporting her contractions were about 30 seconds apart. Shoreline crews responded and started transporting the mom to a hospital – but didn’t quite make it. They helped her deliver a healthy baby boy – as they traveled along southbound I-5 in the Medic Unit. Mom and her new son were taken to an area hospital.
Feb. 15
Firefighters responded to 14 calls, 11 of them for medical emergencies.
Feb. 14
Firefighters responded to nine calls, seven of them for medical emergencies.
Crews responded to Aurora Avenue Econo Lodge for a small natural gas leak in one of the rooms, and to a Richmond Beach apartment complex for smell of smoke, but no fire found.
Feb. 13
Firefighters responded to 18 calls, 15 of them for medical emergencies.
There were three automatic fire alarms, no fire. Included a malicious pull of the fire alarm at Shorewood High School.
Crews also responded to a vehicle fire at northbound I-5 and 236th St.
