Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 261 calls the week of Jan. 8-14

Jan. 14

Fire District 1 crews responded to 35 calls: 27 emergency medical aid calls, two motor vehicle collisions, three fires, one service call and two fire alarms.

At 5:16 a.m., firefighters responded to a car fire in the 13500 block of Highway 99.

At 6:41 a.m., firefighters responded to a four-car collision on southbound I-5 south of 220th St. SW. No one was injured.

At 2:06 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire at a townhouse apartment in the 900 block of 124th St. SW. It turned out to be burned food left unattended on the stove. No one was injured.

Jan. 13

Fire district 1 crews responded to 36 calls: 27 emergency medical aid calls, two motor vehicle collisions, four fires and three service calls.

At 6:24 a.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on southbound I-5 south of 128th St. SW. No one was injured.

At 9:34 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 14000 block of Highway 99. No one was injured.

At 12:55 p.m., firefighters responded to a car fire in the 14700 block of 62nd Pl. W.

Jan. 12

District 1 crews responded to 33 calls: 26 emergency medical aid calls, two fires, one motor vehicle collision and four fire alarms.

At 9:57 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Discovery Elementary School in the 11700 block of Meridian Ave. Staff reported light smoke and a burning smell coming from the heat vents in one wing of the school. Students were evacuated from the building. Firefighters discovered the smoke was coming from a heating-unit motor that was freezing up, and that there was no fire.

At 4:47 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at 156th St. SW and Highway 99. One patient was transported by private ambulance to Stevens Hospital.

Jan. 10

43 calls – 28 emergency medical aid calls, eight motor vehicle collisions, one fire, one service call, one natural gas leak and four fire alarms.

At 12:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on southbound I-5 south of 164th St. SW. No one was injured.

At 5:43 p.m., a sports utility vehicle went off the road and crashed into a stormwater retention pond near SR 525 and Highway 99. Firefighters rescued a man who was trapped inside the vehicle and transported him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Jan. 8

26 calls – 19 emergency medical aid calls, one fire, one motor vehicle collision, one service call and four fire alarms.

At 4:23 a.m., firefighters responded to a Dumpster fire in the 6200 block of St. Albion Way in Mountlake Terrace.

At 8:12 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 22000 block of 64th Ave. W and evaluated four patients at the scene.
