Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 256 calls the week of Feb. 21-27. Lynnwood Fire Department responded to 119 calls Feb. 18-24.

Feb. 27

District 1 crews responded to 35 calls: 23 emergency medical aid calls, two fires, five motor vehicle collisions, one service call and four fire alarms.

At 10:09 a.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision at 164th St. SW and Larch Way and took one patient to Evergreen Hospital.

At 11:23 a.m., a car crashed into a house in the 6700 block of 234th Pl. SW in Mountlake Terrace. No one in the house was injured. The driver fled on foot, but was apprehended by police and taken to Stevens Hospital by firefighters.

At 3:24 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at 148th St. SW and Highway 99. No one was injured.

Feb. 26

District 1 crews responded to 38 calls: 30 emergency medical aid calls, four motor vehicle collisions, one fire investigation, one service call and two fire alarms.

At 6:08 p.m., firefighters responded to a one-car rollover collision on northbound I-5 near I-405 and transported two patients to Harborview Medical Center and two patients to Providence Everett Medical Center.

Feb. 25

District 1 crews responded to 35 calls: 26 emergency medical aid calls, four motor vehicle collisions, one service call, two natural gas leaks and two fire alarms.

At 8:47 a.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on northbound I-5 at 228th St. SW and took one patient to Stevens Hospital.

At 10:03 a.m., a car hit a tree at 212th St. SW and 60th Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters took one patient to Stevens Hospital.

Feb. 24

District 1 crews responded to 38 calls: 31 emergency medical aid calls, four motor vehicle collisions, two fires and one fire alarm.

At 10:47 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at 161st Pl. SW and 52nd Ave. W. No one was injured.

At 12:12 p.m., firefighters transported a boy to Harborview Medical Center after he was hit by a car in Mountlake Terrace at 220th St. SW and 70th Ave. W.

At 12:33 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision. No one was injured.

At 3:44 p.m., firefighters responded to a collision involving a car and a sports utility vehicle at 49th Pl. W and Beverly Park-Edmonds Road. Two patients were transported by private ambulance to Stevens Hospital.

At 5:11 p.m., smoke was reported in an apartment building in the 800 block of 112th St. SW. Firefighters discovered the source of the smoke was a fireplace with a closed damper. They helped clear smoke from the building.

Feb. 23

At 10:26 a.m., Lynnwood Fire Department crews responded to a non-injury vehicle accident in the 20000 block of 44th Ave. W.

At 1:53 p.m., the fire crew was dispatched to apartments in the 4000 block of 194th St. SW, where six people were stuck in the elevator. Crews were able to cut power to the elevator and open it with a key. No one was injured.

Feb. 22

District 1 crews responded to 49 calls: 38 emergency medical aid calls, four fires, four motor vehicle collisions, one service call and two fire alarms.

At 8:02 a.m., firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 3500 block of 156th St. SW. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a unit on the top floor of a three-story apartment building, and called for a second alarm. No one was injured and firefighters were able to contain the fire to one apartment unit. The second-floor unit below the apartment where the fire started sustained water damage. Two other apartments on the third floor also sustained minor damage. Nine people were displaced by the fire.

Investigators from the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office estimated the loss at more than $100,000 and determined the fire was started by a child playing with a cigarette lighter.

At 1:24 p.m., firefighters responded to a multi-car collision at Beverly Park Road and SR 525. No one was injured.

At 3:50 p.m., firefighters evaluated a patient who crashed his motorcycle on southbound I-5 north of 196th St. SW.

At 4:03 p.m., firefighters responded to a collision involving a school bus and a transit bus in the 15700 block of 44th Ave. W. Both vehicles sustained only minor damage and there were no injuries.
