As your firefighters and paramedics, we take great pride in serving such an incredible community. Though we all may not live in the city of Edmonds limits, we all consider it our home. The citizens of Edmonds have always shown incredible support for our fire department, and for that we will always be thankful. As the professionals normally giving the help, we are not very comfortable at asking for it. However, on May 20, we are asking for your support in passing the EMS Levy. It is important to understand that this is not a new levy. This levy will restore the EMS levy to the original 50 cents that was approved. Over time and due to inflation and tax limitations, that original 50 cent levy is currently valued at approximately 32 cents. The additional 18 cents provided by this levy will help us continue to provide the high quality of emergency medical services that we have prided ourselves at being able to deliver to you, the citizens of Edmonds.
Regardless of the outcome, we are very appreciative and humbled by all of the kind words that have been written in the letters to the editor, and are thankful for all of the support.
The Edmonds Professional Firefighters, your firefighters, will continue to be the best we can be, and will always be proud to serve such a great city.
