Locals can help Forest View
Forest View Elementary is a finalist in the “Lots 2 Give” contest sponsored by Big Lots.
Locals can help by going online to vote for the school.
Big Lots will give away a total of $80,000 to 26 different schools. As a finalist, Forest View has a chance to win a prize to help fund Phase Two of their playground climbing structure. The grand prize is $10,000, with three runner-up prizes of $5,000 each and 22 third place prizes of $2,500 each.
Locals can log on to the Big Lots contest Web site, www.lots2give.com/Vote2.aspx#top, and vote three times per day per computer. The votes can be cast all at the same time. On the Web site, a search by the state of Washington will locate Forest View. Voting runs through July 22. Earlier this year, parent volunteers installed Phase 1 of the school’s new climbing structure. The school opened in fall 2007 with no climbing structure.
