Fundraiser for MDHS music students

The Music Boosters Club of Meadowdale High School will sponsor its annual Bingo Fundraiser, which benefits all the music groups at Meadowdale High School — choral, orchestra and band. The public is invited.

Money raised will go toward new equipment, new music and scholarships for students to attend workshops and competitions.

The event will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at the school’s Great Hall: 6002 168th St. SW in Lynnwood.

Learn more about Challenge program

Parents are invited to learn more about the Challenge program, a full-time, self-contained gifted program for kindergarten through sixth-graders at Terrace Park K-8 school in the Edmonds School District.

An informational meeting will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Terrace Park K-8, 5409 228th St. SW in Mountlake Terrace.

Parents or teachers must fill out a referral form in order for the student to be tested. Forms are due by Nov. 21. For information, call 425-431-7157.

Programs for gifted high school students

Parents who would like to learn more about high school programs including Advanced Placement (AP), College in the High School, International Baccalaureate (IB), Project Lead the Way, and Running Start in the Edmonds School District are invited to an informational meeting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at the former Woodway High School, 23200 100th Ave. W, in Edmonds. Math Night for district parents

Parents of middle or high school students who want to learn more about how to help their student be successful in math and learn about the resources available can attend an informational meeting.

The meeting will be from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 28 at Lynnwood High School, 3001 184th St. SW in Lynnwood. Participants will attend three 20-minute sessions of their choosing. They can learn about online help, how to use the student’s textbook, how to ask questions, graphing calculators and standards for graduation.

Workshops on district finances

A three-part series of workshops will be offered to the public to learn about funding and use of financial resources in the Edmonds School District. These will be from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 29, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3 at the Edmonds School District Educational Services Center, 20420 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.

The topics are:

• Oct. 29: Funding of public education in the district.

• Nov. 19: How does the district use financial resources?

• Dec. 3: What are the upcoming financial issues facing the district?
