There’s a storm headed towards Edmonds – Gaelic Storm, that is. Find out for yourself “What’s the Rumpus?” as Gaelic Storm brings their Celtic spirit to Edmonds Center for the Arts Oct. 10.
Since their big-screen debut in the blockbuster film “Titanic” a decade ago, Gaelic Storm’s fan base has multiplied with each new album, turning the one-time pub band into one of the premier touring acts in the Celtic/World music genre. Along with such career highlights as six Billboard chart-topping albums, song placement in two EA sports games and a 2008 Hallmark greeting card featuring their song “Kiss Me I’m Irish”, Gaelic Storm continues to broaden the musical horizons of the Celtic music genre by creating compelling originals and fresh arrangements steeped in Irish tradition, combined with their unique blend of world rhythms.
With songs such as “Born to be a Bachelor” and “The Night I Punched Russell Crowe”, Gaelic Storm is not your traditional Celtic band, but a whirlwind ruckus, able to knock out a tribute to Ireland no matter where they are around the world. Their seventh album “What’s the Rumpus?” debuted at number one on the Billboard World Album Chart, number one on the iTunes World Album Chart and number five on the Billboard Internet Album Chart.
