Due to the movement and expansion of other businesses in Lake Forest Park Towne Centre, the Gallery at Towne Centre had to move – but not far.

Instead of being located nearer to Rite Aid in the downstairs of the Centre mall, the Gallery opened the doors of its new location in the corner by the escalator on Nov. 23.

Its address remains 17171 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park.

Though the new space is slightly smaller than its old locale, the move will likely be advantageous, said Nancy Frey, executive director of the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council.

“We’ll be more visible, down by the escalators,” she said, noting that they will get all the traffic of people going up and down the mall’s levels.

“It’s smaller, but a bit more accessible.”

The new space also boasts bigger windows and double doors, which will add to accessibility according to Frey.

The first show in the new space also opened on Nov. 23 – the “Home for the Holidays” 2010 Holiday Gifts Show, which will run until the end of December.

The show will feature paintings, pottery, jewelry and other fine arts.

“We have a lot of artists coming in for the holiday show,” said Frey.

The Gallery is also hosting its annual Shop ‘N Nosh on Dec. 3, inviting the public to view the new space, shop local goods available from the holiday gift show, and enjoy cookies and cider, from noon-7 p.m. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be available after 5 p.m.
