Over 100 years of history will be relived Thursday, July 19, as the Edmonds Memorial Cemetery board conducts its annual “A Walk Back in Time” open house and tour.

The public is invited to join board members as they lead tours from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., sharing stories of those whose final resting place is the city-owned cemetery at the corner of 100th Avenue and 15th Street Southwest. Visitors also are welcome to wander the 6-1/2-acre site on their own and view the new Columbarium Plaza.

Refreshments will be served.

Among the notable local residents buried at the historic cemetery are George Brackett, who founded Edmonds in 1871 and served as its postmaster and mayor. There also are graves of veterans who served in the Civil and Spanish American wars.

Sexton Cliff Edmonds will be on hand to answer questions about cemetery services.
