I am proud to be a Democrat. I never thought that I would see the day that Republicans would be ashamed to wear their party label. Do they think that people are confused by using “GOP” on campaign literature? Do they believe this makes them appear more independent?
Dino Rossi is so ashamed to be associated with President Bush or John McCain that he is attempting to ride the coattails of Barack Obama. This appears to be a perverse joke, since Dino doesn’t share most of Obama’s values. Dino’s attacks on Gov. Gregoire are outlandish. To attack Chris Gregoire for the condition of the state’s economic problems when it is the federal government and largely his party’s responsibility is ludicrous.
I suppose that I may embarrassed too if I was opposed to children’s health care, were responsible for a very unpopular war, hell bent on destruction of the environment, ignoring global warming and had created an insurmountable economic crisis. The banking and housing industry are in shambles. The Democrats are the more fiscally responsible political party.
Our military commitments have the U.S. overextended so that Russia had nothing to fear by invading Georgia. They can do whatever they want without concern of reprisal. Instead of the world’s only superpower, we have been revealed to be only a paper tiger.
