Shoreline City Council member and incumbent candidate Kevin Grossman is up to date on filing contributions to the state Public Disclosure Commission, after failing to file weekly reports for the past month.
Grossman received a $500 contribution from the Washington Association of Realtors political action committee July 11 but had not filed the contribution to the PDC as state law requires.
All candidates must file weekly reports of contributions with the PDC starting July 1.
Grossman filed reports on contributions including the Realtors contribution, with the PDC Aug. 10.
Prior to his Aug. 10 filing, Grossman said he was unaware he was violating state requirements by not filing weekly.
“If that’s the case, I apologize. I was under the understanding it was not needed to be filed weekly until August,” Grossman said.
Susan Harris, with the PDC said: “In election season, people are interested in who contributes to the candidates, so four months before the election date, (contribution) reports must be filed weekly. That means starting July 1.”
