Hadland, McMahan lead Fire Dist. 1

Snohomish County Fire District 1 commissioners elected Larry Hadland to serve as board chairman and Brian McMahan to serve as vice chairman for 2007 at their meeting Jan. 2.

This will be Hadland’s first year serving as chairman of the five-member elected board. He has been a board member for nine years and served as vice chairman in 2006. Hadland is a paramedic with the Lynnwood Fire Department.

McMahan has served previous terms as chairman and vice chairman during his nine years as a commissioner. He is a battalion chief with Eastside Fire and Rescue in King County.

Commissioners are elected by the public to six-year terms. The board meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Fire District 1 Headquarters, 12310 Meridian Avenue, Everett. Meetings are open to the public.

Fire District 1 serves the Silver Firs and Martha Lake areas of Snohomish County and the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier.
