Long-time community activist and teacher Patty Hale officially kicked off her campaign for Shoreline City Council on March 17.

A Shoreline resident for 26 years, Hale cites the need for improved leadership on the council.

“Our city has tremendous opportunities before us, but we need new leadership and a clearer vision for our future,” said Hale.

A member of the Parks Board, PTA and Council of Neighborhoods, Little League and soccer coach, and police volunteer, Hale has been active in countless community activities in every neighborhood of the city. She says she’ll use this experience to continue to revitalize neighborhoods, improve public safety and rebuild the local economy.

“I’m excited to continue the work that I started as a community volunteer,” said Hale. “From leading the transition team when Shoreline acquired King County Parks to forming a block watch and working with police to counter neighborhood crime, I’ve spent years helping to solve problems in this community.”

“I believe great cities are built from strong neighborhoods where citizens feel safe and protected,” she added. “A stable local economy will keep Shoreline thriving. These will be my priorities on the council.”

Hale lives with her husband, a construction company supervisor, in the Ridgecrest neighborhood. They have one grown daughter who recently graduated from college.
