Hear lighter side of classical

The Lynnwood Community Band will perform a light hearted program of classical music at 7 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Edmonds Church of God.

Conducted by Timothy Leese and Christopher Davis, the concert features R. Vaughan Williams, “Folk Song Suite”; Modest Mussorgsky, “Night on Bald Mountain”; Ralph Ford, “Galileo’s Vision”; Reinhold Gliére, “Russian Sailor’s Dance”; John Philip Sousa, “Fairest of the Fair”; and Claude Debussy, “Golliwog’s Cakewalk.” Smaller instrumental ensembles will also perform.

The Lynnwood Community Band perform a variety of music in different community venues throughout Lynnwood and the Puget Sound area. Their charitable purpose is to provide education and enjoyment to the community through music. The concert takes place at the Edmonds Church of God, located at 8224 220th Street SW in Edmonds. The general public is invited to attend with families and friends. Admission is free, however donations to the church’s on-site food bank are encouraged.
