The Mill Creek City Council will have a pair of public hearings during its next meeting, which is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12.

A proposed ordinance regulating motorized scooters and the 2005-2010 transportation improvement plan are the topics of the two hearings.

The proposed regulations for motorized scooters would set the minimum age for riding a scooter at 16 and would require riders to wear helmets, and scooters to have mufflers, among other requirements.

The transportation improvement plan is a planning tool that identifies all currently planned transportation projects, within the city of Mill Creek, that are expected during the next seven years. It also includes any projects that may include state or federal funding.

Copies of both the transportation improvement plan and the proposed motorized scooter ordinance are available at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Mill Creek Blvd.

Both hearings will take place in the Council Chambers inside City Hall. For more information, call 425-745-1891 or visit www.cityofmillcreek.com.
