Height issue isn’t dead on waterfront

As a resident of downtown Edmonds, I am bemused by the Strom Peterson oft-quoted phrase, “The city’s once contentious building regs are now in place and inviolate.” Yet, he is a member of the waterfront planning committee advocating condos/and or buildings from four to ten stories tall. When the developers come to the city council to request a variance on the “inviolate” city building codes, I am afraid that that “dead horse” will be brought back to life. All in Edmonds who want to maintain our small-town atmosphere, with views of water and mountains, should be aware of the changes a few waterfront property owners and developers want to make. They will be monetarily rewarded from sales of tall condos and we, the people of Edmonds, will be left trying to look over the top of the box they have put us in. The waterfront of Edmonds should remain open to the water and mountains for all.
