EVERETT – Everett Community College is asking community members to share their thoughts and ideas for the college’s future priorities at a series of events beginning Feb. 8.

The four events in February and March are part of the college’s long-range strategic planning process. The college wants input from a cross-section of the Snohomish County community and surrounding region, including those who are not already connected with the college.

“As we focus on the future, it is critical that our planning is linked to the needs and priorities of our local communities and constituents,” EvCC President David Beyer said. “These community forums are one of several ways the college is reaching out to involve stakeholders in the strategic planning process.”

EvCC has identified themes for each of the engagement events, which will include a structured process for discussion and feedback.

The information and ideas gathered at the community events will lead to a larger, two-day event in April and will be used to help develop the college’s strategic plan for the next three to five years. The community events are:

Feb. 8: Shaping the Future: Changing Roles for Community Colleges, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at EvCC’s main campus in Everett.

Feb. 9: Serving a Diverse Student and Community Population, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Tulalip Resort Casino’s conference area in Tulalip.

March 13: Defining Student Success in Community Colleges, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Monroe.

March 15: Enhancing Community Partnerships and Relationships, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Port of Everett Waterfront Center in Everett.
