LYNNWOOD — Runners and walkers of all ages are getting ready for the Rotary Club of Lynnwood’s third annual Hi!5 Fun Run on Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Alderwood mall in Lynnwood. There will be a 10K Run, 5K Run, 2K Walk and free Kid’s Dash so there’s something for everyone.
Or you can enjoy a different speed at the club’s first Hi!5 Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Edmonds Community College. All car enthusiasts are welcome.
The Hi!5 Run, which is sponsored by Comprehensive Wealth Management, benefits local charities including local student scholarships, children in need and much more.
On the day of the event, registration will open at 7:30 a.m.
Participants, however, are encouraged to register before the event. On the Internet, participants can register until noon on Aug. 24 by visiting www.lynnwoodrotary.org.
In-person registration closes at noon on Friday, Aug. 18, at the following locations: Run 26 (Lynnwood) Super Jock ‘n Jill (Greenlake) FootZone (Redmond, Bellevue, Issaquah), Everyday Athlete (Kirkland) and Sound Sports (downtown Seattle).

All running events begin at The Terraces at Alderwood mall. Kid’s Dash starts at 8:45 a.m., the 10K and 5K runs start at 9 a.m. and the 2K walk starts at 9:10 a.m. Awards ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Hi!5 Car Show.
Here’s a peek at the courses:
• 10K Run: USAT&F certified course through commercial and residential neighborhoods. Runners only. This is a new and updated route from 2005.
• 5K Run – USAT&F certified course encircling Lynnwood’s city center commercial area. Runners only.
• 2K Walk – An easy and level course around Alderwood mall’s perimeter for walkers and those with strollers. There are no streets to cross.
Kid’s Dash – The Community Transit Kid’s Dash is free for children 10 and younger on a short, safe run in the start-finish area. Community Transit mascot, Oxy Gene, will lead the race. Ribbons for all finishers.
The Hi!5 Car Show is free for spectators and is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Edmonds Community College. The entry fee for vehicles is $20 and there is no pre-registration required.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 300 cars. Trophies will be presented by various local organizations and businesses that will choose their favorite car.
