Host families sought

Everett Community College is seeking host families for international students starting in early September.

Hosts are asked to provide room, board and transportation to visiting students. Families do not need to speak a second language, as visiting students will want to practice their English skills. A monthly stipend of $600 is provided to host families to defray expenses.

“One of the most important aspects of their visit to the United States is the opportunity to live with an American family and experience American life and customs firsthand,” said Visakan Ganeson, EvCC’s director for international education. “We ask host families to treat students as a member of their own family.”

Students will be on campus for class during weekdays and stay with their host families at night and on the weekends.

Host families will be matched with students through Intercultural Homestays and Services Inc. and ABODE.
