Mill Creek/Bothell
Army 2nd Lt. Kjell N. Sporseen is currently deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sporseen, an automotive platoon leader, is normally assigned to the 98th Maintenance Company, Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. He has one year of military service. The lieutenant, son of Carol and Gregory Sporseen of Bothell, is a 2001 graduateof Juanita High School in Kirkland, and received a bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Ripon College, Wis.
Sharhrooz Shayegan has graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Md. The graduate received a medical degree and was commissioned to the rank of captain, with a minimum seven-year active duty service commitment. Shayegan, son of Mohammad Shayegan and Rana Samieerad of Bothell, is a 1994 graduate of Inglemoor High School in Kenmore. The captain received a bachelor’s degree in 1998 from the University of Washington.
Edmonds
Army Pvt. Jessica K. Hamberg has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Hamberg is the daughter of Ronald Hamberg of Edmonds and Nana Lowell of Edmonds.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Hugh C. Sauer has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Sauer, son of Eric Sauer of Edmonds, is a 2003 graduate of Edmonds Woodway High School.
