Mountlake Terrace

Air Force Airman Glendon P. Conte has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Conte, son of Erasto Conte of Mountlake Terrace, is a 2004 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School.

Mill Creek/Bothell

Air Force Airman Drew J. Carpenter has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Carpenter, son of Juanita Carpenter of Bothell, is a 2005 graduate of Bothell High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Benjamin S. Lamken and the reserve Marines of Bravo Company, 4th Tank Battalion homebased in Yakima, Wash., have demobilized after a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lamken, son of Mary and Stephen Lamken of Bothell, joined the Marine Corps in May 2001.

Air Force Airman Kyle A. Simpson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Simpson, son of Keith and Caroline Simpson of Mill Creek, is a 2004 graduate of Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek.

Lynnwood

Air Force Airman Joshua P. Hurley has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Hurley, son of William and Sandra Hurley of Lynnwood, is a 2003 graduate of Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood.

Marine Corps Pvt. Jastin Y. Pak, son of Inok and Jason Pak of Lynnwood, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Seaman Eric C. Kelley, a 2003 graduate of Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, and his fellow shipmates are in the middle of a scheduled deployment while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa, homeported in San Diego.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Leah M. Potts has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Potts, daughter of Mary Potts of Lynnwood and Ferris Potts Jr. of Grand Rapids, Mich., is a 2000 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School and received an associate degree in 2002 from Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood.

Army Pvt. Elizabeth A. Rust has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Rust, daughter of Bradley Rust of Lynnwood, is a 2005 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Shoreline

Marine Corps Cpl. Andrew M. Mehl and the reserve Marines of Bravo Company, 4th Tank Battalion homebased in Yakima, Wash., have demobilized after a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mehl, son of Marie Mehl of Shoreline and Thomas Mehl of Shoreline, is a 1998 graduate of Shorecrest High School in Shoreline and joined the Marine Corps in July 1999.

Army Pvt. Shawn R. Shaffer has graduated from the Light-wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Shaffer is the son of Larry Shaffer of Camano Island and Bernadette Moyle of Shoreline.

Army Reserve Pfc. Ryan N. Christopherson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Christopherson, son of Fran Traxler of Shoreline and Mark Christopherson of Everett, is a 2004 graduate of Mariner High School in Everett.
