Shoreline

Marine Corps Pvt. Robert A. Meisner, son of Roger Meisner of Shoreline, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.

Air Force Airman Leroy D. Barker III has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Barker, son of Leroy Barker of Shoreline and Faith Barker of Seattle, is a 2004 graduate of Shorewood High School in Shoreline.

Navy Seaman Duane R. Husted has completed training as a construction mechanic in the U.S. Navy SeaBees. He is based in Gulfport, Miss. and is currently serving with Naval Mobile Construction Batallion One in Iraq. Husted, son of Ted and Barb Husted of Lake Forest Park, attended Shorecrest High School and is a 2000 graduate of Jubille Christian Academy. He is married to Julie (Loberg) Husted, formerly of Edmonds.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Andrew S. Caldedon, a 1998 graduate of Shorewood High School, reported for duty at Naval Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. Caldedon joined the Navy in September 1998.

Lynnwood

Air Force Airman Dwight B. Miller has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Arnold Miller of Lynnwood.

Navy Seaman Recruit Steven R. Ricord, son of Latricia Ringnalda of Lynnwood and Steve Ricord of Spring Creek, Nev., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Ricord is a 2003 graduate of Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood.

Army Pvt. Christopher M. Russell has graduated from the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer advanced individual training course at Fort Knox, Ky. Russell is the son of Karla Russell of Lynnwood and Michael Russell of Lynnwood. He is a 2003 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Mellisa A. Duffy, daughter of Tammy and Arthur Duffy of Lynnwood, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. Duffy is a 2001 graduate of Mariner High School in Everett.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Shannon E. Webb, a 2004 graduate of Lynnwood High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Mill Creek/Bothell

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Wesley M. Van Skaik, son of Mary and Michael Van Skaik of Bothell, and more than 2,100 Marines and sailors assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently deployed in Iraq, participating in patrols and raids in the cities of Fallujah, Kandari and Nasar Wa Salam. Van Skaik is a 2002 graduate of Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek and joined the Marine Corps in June 2002.
