Army Capt. Mark Scott, son of Bill &Nancy Scott of Lynnwood, has been activated and deployed to Fort Bliss, Texas. Capt. Scott is a 1982 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cody Looney has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Lexie Looney of Lynnwood and is a 1999 graduate of Lynnwood High School.

Air Force Airman Brandon A. Gabriel, a 2001 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School, recently graduated from the Communications Signals Collection and Processing Course at Naval Technical Training Center Corry Station, Pensacola, Fla.

Army Pvt. Tony I. Onyechere has graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. He is the brother of H.C. Onyechere of Lynnwood.

Army Reserve Pvt. James E. Mills has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Mills is a 2001 graduate of the high school program at Edmonds Community College.

Army National Guard Pvt. Kurt R. Freudenberg has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Freudenberg is the son of Jody Freudenberg of Mountlake Terrace, and Richard Freudenberg of Everett. He is a 2002 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School.

Marine Corps Pvt. Michael A. Perpich, son of Roberta Perpich of Phoenix, Ariz. and Anthony Perpich of Lynnwood, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.

Jennifer E. Huntsman has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) National Advanced Leadership Camp at Fort Lewis, Tacoma. She is the daughter of David and Gyung Huntsman of Lynnwood. The cadet is a 1998 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School.
