Jackson outfielder Travis Snider has been selected as the Class 4A Most Valuable Player by a panel of sportswriters.
Snider, who graduated this month, recently signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, who picked him 14th in the Major League Baseball draft.
Jackson’s coach Alan Briggs, who helped guide the Wolfpack to a 27-0 record and the state 4A title, was voted coach of the year by the panel.
Also making the first team along with Snider were senior pitcher Cam Nobles and senior first baseman Joey Lind. Junior catcher Kawika Emsley-Pai made the second team.
Archbishop Murphy senior infielder Shiloh Keo made the Class 2A first team.
The panel that makes the selections is coordinated by René Ferrán, a staff writer with the Tri-City Herald.
