DeMiero Jazz Fest artistic director Dee Daniels will headline the festival this year, along with more than 70 vocal and instrumental jazz groups from throughout the Northwest.

Jazz favorites The New York Voices also will make an appearance.

“We are very excited to have the fabulous New York Voices here this year,” Daniels said. “They are a favorite worldwide and have been involved in several jazz festivals, but recently have shifted their focus to working with young vocal jazz students, so our DeMiero Jazz Fest is a perfect place for them.”

The festival is March 1-3 at various locations in Edmonds. A limited number of reservations are available for a special Festival Gala to meet the artists and enjoy an intimate performance at 8 p.m. March 1; tickets for the gala are $75.

Daytime workshops and clinics mentored by professional artists and educators for elementary, middle, high school and college students as well as community groups begin at 8 a.m. each day. They are free and open to the public.

Evening concerts March 2 and March 3 will feature Daniels, The New York Voices, Seattle favorite Greta Matassa, Edmonds Community College’s Soundsation Jazz Choir, the Seattle Jazz Singers and Kennelly Keys All-Star Big Band.
