Keane, Spillman tuning up for 4A state swim meet

The Edmonds District’s top two swimmers look to be ready for this week’s Class 4A state swimming championships.

Meadowdale’s Lisa Keane took first place in the 100-yard butterfly at the Wesco South sectional meet, clocking in with a state qualifying time of 59.78. Keane finished third in the 200 individual medley in a state time of 2:15.15.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Mary Beth Spillman finished third in the 50 freestyle (25.62) and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:22.44) and met the time standards in both events.

The preliminaries for the Class 4A state swimming championships are scheduled to start at noon today (Friday, Nov. 12) with the finals set for 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 12) at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
