Kind volunteers help so many

This past year, the Edmonds Library was privileged to host the AARP Tax Aides under the leadership of Jim Wassall. From the beginning of February through April 14, they provided assistance three days a week at the Edmonds Library. This group of volunteers prepared and e-filed 444 Federal tax returns, answered 75 questions without preparing a return, and performed 447 quality interviews to assist people with their taxes. This is all done at no cost to the individuals. What a valuable service! The volunteers helped customer after customer with knowledge and understanding.

This group deserves recognition. I want to personally recognize their fine efforts and all the time they give to our community. Our staff are so grateful to have these generous and kind volunteers. Each of the following people participated in the Edmonds Library Tax Aide program: Jim Wassall, Dolores Smith, Karen Ware, Terry Dixon, Greg McLellan, Lilly McLellan, Judy Brummond, Sharon Sanderman, Carol Strickland, Diana Kuhns, Bob Hacker, Madelon Hughes, Bob Plaag, Karen Van De Grift, Cliff Griffin and Ken Magill. In these tough economic times these are people who care and share. Thanks so much! You are appreciated.
