King’s picked up some momentum going into next week’s Tri-district championships by sweeping the Chinook League boys and girls golf championships this week.
At Monday’s girls tournament at Overlake Golf and Country Club, King’s compiled a team count of 601 to brush off Bellevue Christian (610) and Seattle Christian (641).
Bellevue Christian’s Karli Johnson shot a 101 to earn medalist honors, finishing four strokes ahead of King’s junior Kristy Bae.
Shannon Stubbs finished fifth overall for the Knights, followed by teammates Katy Runkel, Katie Lyon and Courtney McCampbell.
At Tuesday’s boys tournament at Fort Lewis, King’s junior John Oh shared medalist honors with Life Christian’s Brandon Hjelseth with 32 Stableford points.
The Knights (128 points) held off Life Christian (125) for the team title, followed by Seattle Christian (92), Bellevue Christian (85) and Cascade Christian (51).
Bae, Stubbs, Runkel and Oh all received all-league recognition.
The top nine finishers from the Tri-district girls tournament May 12 at Trophy Lake advance to the Class A/B state championships.
State berths go to the top 17 finishers from the Class A Tri-district boys tournament May 14 at Trophy Lake.
