A week-long respite worked wonders for the King’s boys basketball team.
The Knights took full advantage of their time off, gearing up for a pair Chinook League wins over Life Christian and Tacoma Baptist.
Playing for the first time since Jan. 8, King’s outlasted Life Christian 40-32 Jan. 16 in a low-scoring battle Jan. 16 at Mike Martin Gym.
Senior Chris Faidley scored 13 points and Carson Bowlin added 10 for the Knights, who were limited to 10 points in the second half.
Behind a 16-2 first-quarter run, King’s beat Tacoma Baptist 61-43 Monday night. Faidley led all scorers with 17 points and Josh Drenth finished with 16.
The victories moved the Knights (5-1 league, 9-6 overall) into a first-place tie in the Chinook League with third-ranked Bellevue Christian.
The Vikings defeated King’s 52-42 when the teams first met in December. The Knights host Bellevue Christian at 7:30 tonight to complete the season series.
