Lady Wolfpack claims title

The Lady Wolfpack won the eighth grade Pacific Northwest Best in the West basketball tournament in Yakima May 8-9. 

The tournament is considered the tri-state grade level championship or Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The Wolfpack finished 5-0, defeating the Spokane Stars 41-31 in the finals.

It is the third year the Wolfpack have participated and won the Best in the West tournament. Coached by Rich Bruns and Gregg Kingma, players include Ashly Bruns, Kristi Kingma, Sara O’Neal and Ashley Todd (Jackson High next year), Jenna Herman and Ashley Knight (Monroe), Eryn Jones and Shannon Wood (Meadowdale).
