A Lake Forest Park resident has been charged with first-degree robbery in conjunction with a number of Shoreline gas station robberies.

David Stephen Wirfs, 25, was charged April 19 with committing a robbery on Jan. 28 at a Chevron gas station in Shoreline. He is being held at King County Jail on a $500,000 bail. His arraignment is currently scheduled for April 26. If convicted as charged, he faces 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 years in jail. Wirfs is an associate of Shoreline resident Jesse Guy Bailey, who was previously charged with four counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree assault.

In regards to the Jan. 28 robbery, police reports indicate that Bailey waited in a car outside the gas station while Wirfs went inside the store with Bailey’s revolver in his jacket pocket and stole approximately $103.

A case setting hearing for Bailey, who is being held at King County jail with a bail of $500,000, was set for April 19. According to Dan Donahoe, press secretary for the prosecutor’s office, a second case setting hearing is scheduled for May 10. A trial date may be set at that time.

Bailey’s first-degree assault charge is in connection with a March 13 shootout with a police detective in the 20000 block of 15th Ave. NE. If convicted as charged, Bailey faces 33 1/2 to 38 years in prison, which includes firearm enhancements.
