– French for Travelers — 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 3 through 31. Cost is $85 for all five sessions.

– Southern Italy and Sicily — 1 p.m. Jan. 12.

– Andes, Amazon and Galapagos — 10 a.m. Jan. 19.

– Planning Your Italian Vacation — 1 p.m. Jan. 19.

REI presents “GPS 101” — Jan. 9

Village Theatre presents “The King and I” — Jan. 11 through 27

The Village Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Tony Award-winning classic, “The King and I,” from Jan. 11 through 27 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave., in Everett. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. on selected Tuesdays, 2 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday matinees and 7 p.m. Sundays. Tickets range in cost from $15 to $49. TAP KIDS at Edmonds Center for the Arts — Jan. 12

TAP KIDS, eight of the nation’s most talented young tap dancers, will take to the stage in a celebration of American youth culture at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., in Edmonds. Since their debut at The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in 2002, the TAP KIDS have enjoyed tremendous success across the country and abroad, thrilling audiences of all ages with their talent and passion. REI presents “Backcountry Skiing” — Jan. 16

Alderwood REI in Lynnwood will present Martin Volken, author of the upcoming book “Backcountry Skiing,” at 7 p.m. Jan. 16. Volken will be discussing from his book techniques for ski touring and mountaineering, from planning wilderness trips to perfecting turns in rolling terrain and mastering uphill climbing. “Backcountry Skiing” also features information on ski equipment, avalanche safety tips, mountain weather and glaciers, trip-planning tools and other ski-related issues. REI presents “Snowshoeing 101” — Jan. 23

Alderwood REI in Lynnwood will present “Snowshoeing 101” at 7 p.m. Jan. 23. Attendees will learn about the appropriate selection of gear and the initial skills needed to get outside and on the trails. Also, there will be discussion on places to go snowshoeing. Blue Man Group’s “How to be a Megastar 2.1” — Jan. 25

The Blue Man Group will present “How to be a Megastar 2.1” at 8 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., in downtown Everett. The concert will include state-of-the-art technology along with an eight-piece band joining the Blue Man Group. Special guest DJ Mike Relm will add a “new spin” to open the show. Tickets are priced at $87.00 and $51.50. Service charges may apply.
