LAKE FOREST PARK – Lake Forest Park voters re-elected Dave Hutchinson as their mayor Nov. 4. City Council incumbents Roger Olstad, Dwight Thompson and Ed Sterner also won re-election. About 31 percent of registered Lake Forest Park voters cast ballots.

Hutchinson beat out challenger and current City Council member Carolyn Armanini by garnering 54 percent of the vote to her 46 percent.

“I think it’s good and it’s what we expected,” Hutchinson said. “There was a lot of support for me because of the record I have. Also, the issues (Armanini) raised, didn’t catch on, like the budget issue— our budget is working, and we have a vision in terms of the city center and senior housing. The city is well organized and we need to keep moving ahead.”

Armanini could not be reached for comment.

In the Lake Forest Park City Council races Olstad beat challenger Nigel Keiffer, garnering 67 percent of the vote to Keiffer’s 33 percent.

“I think the voters of Lake Forest Park have spoken and I’m pretty pleased with the results,” Olstad said Tuesday evening. “I appreciate their confidence in me and I look forward to representing them for the next four years.”

Keiffer said “it’s early, let’s see what happens. But if I don’t pull through — hey, whatever.”

Thompson and Sterner both ran unopposed and were both re-elected to their seats.
