The Edmonds Arts Commission presents an exhibit featuring acrylic paintings by Dianna Shyne through June 29 at the Edmonds Library.

The exhibit features paintings based on Shyne’s studies in Russian Impressionism. They are done in acrylic on textured canvas and represent a cross section of her current impressionist work. They reflect mood and poetry through the depiction of light, color and compositional elements. Season, time of day, weather and atmosphere also play a role in evoking a mood. Shyne’s work is inspired by the works of great European, American and Russian impressionists, and by her own personal connection to nature.

This award winning artist is a signature member of the NW Watercolor Society, Women Painters of Washington, Eastside Association of Fine Arts, Oil Painters of America and others. Shyne has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the Northwest and around the country. She teaches painting in her Fremont studio. She received a BA from Central Washington University.

The exhibit in the Edmonds Public Library, located at 650 Main St., may be viewed during Library hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information call 425-771-0228.
