Nine local rock and metal bands converge in Lynnwood’s Wilcox Park from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 for a full day of all-ages, free live music at the second annual Rock-It Fest.
Local unsigned high school and college-aged bands including Zero Year, Terrace Tragedy, Voodoo Grace Notes, Deathbeat, Even Til, Blackout 101, Logos, Jar and Pseudo-Chrome will entertain their fans with a variety of music from progressive and punk rock to metal and hardcore.
Rock-It Fest came about when co-owners of Rock-It Music, Jeff Jewett and Rick Ryan and patron, Joe Mingo, approached the Lynnwood Arts Commission looking for a place where young unsigned bands could put on a show. Wilcox Park seemed the perfect location, and Rock-It Fest was born.
Admission is free, but bring at least three cans of food or cash to donate to the Lynnwood Food Bank and get one raffle ticket for a prize drawing to win an electric guitar or X-box 360. The event also includes video game stations by Game Crazy. Event parking located West of Wilcox Park at the Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave. W, Lynnwood.
