Kevin Pierce, a senior at King’s School, recently received Eagle Scout rank. Pierce is a member of Mt. Baker Council Troop 300 which meets at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Edmonds.
Over the past seven years, Pierce has earned 26 merit badges, done more than 260 community service hours and spent 86 nights camping and hiking. He held leadership positions of assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, librarian, troop guide, cheer master, quarter master and den chief.
For his Eagle Scout project, Pierce built a 10-by-12 foot storage shed for the Jeremiah Center at Five Corners in Edmonds, a non profit youth center. The shed was built to replace an existing garage that was deteriorating.
Pierce led a crew of 22 volunteers who graded the building area, framed, sided, roofed and painted the shed this summer.
Pierce, who plays on King’s golf team, is interested in pursuing mechanical and civil engineering and dentistry after graduation. He is also an active member of Sea Scout Ship 6, Kelcema.
