Local student awarded scholarship

Jamison Hemingway will receive a $1,000 Carson International Business Scholars Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year at Washington State University.

Hemingway, a 2002 Edmonds-Woodway High School graduate, has an associate’s degree from Bellevue Community College. She is a member and an executive board leader for Alpha Kappa Psi co-ed business fraternity and a member of the International Business Club.

Hemingway plans to graduate in May 2009 with degrees in international business and marketing. She is the daughter of Stephanie Hemingway of Bothell and Jim Hemingway of Lynnwood.

EdCC adds new classes for fall

New classes this fall include Arabic and Chinese; baking certificate; a restoration horticulture degree which trains students to help restore damaged habitat; dental front office certificate and project management certificate.
