Local teacher is ‘Teacher of the Week’
Martha Lake Elementary School teacher Kay Kite was named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week May 29 in a local contest conducted by STAR 101.5 radio.
Kite, a fourth-grade teacher, was nominated by her student David Cooper.
STAR 101.5’s “Curt” and “Corine” made a surprise visit to Kite’s classroom. Each student won a goody bag of prizes. Kite got a personalized plaque, $100 and a key that has a one-in-twelve chance of winning a new car.
The “Teacher of the Week” is a 12-week program that allows students and parents to recognize local educators.
