LYNNWOOD — When Lynnwood City Councilman Van AuBuchon campaigned for his seat last year, he promised people he wouldn’t hide from them.

He’s made good on that promise.

On the last Saturday of every month, AuBuchon hosts public meetings at Lynnwood’s Fire Station 14. Hardly anyone shows up, but the councilman hopes that will change.

AuBuchon said he wants people to bring questions, comments and concerns they may be reluctant to share in front of everyone during council meetings.

“I don’t know if I’ll always have all the answers, but I’ll try to get them,” he said.

AuBuchon plans to invite fellow council members and other city leaders to give special presentations.

“We’ve heard from people who felt out of touch with council members and the city in general,” he said.

“This is a way to get involved.”
