Lynnwood hosts Reptile Man show

Come face to face with a live iguana, snapping turtle and slithering snake when the Reptile Man, Scott Petersen, shares his knowledge of these fascinating cold-blooded creatures Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Lynndale Park Amphitheater.

“The Fascinating World of Reptiles” is an educational show featuring Scott Petersen, The Reptile Man, and 15 live reptiles from around the world. Petersen, a zoologist and educator, has been featured as The Reptile Man on PBS’s “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” on MTV’s “Road Rules,” in “Ranger Rick” magazine, on KING-5’s “Watch This” and on KOMO-TV’s “Northwest Afternoon,” as well as at elementary schools throughout Snohomish County.

“The Fascinating World of Reptiles” will be presented at noon Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Lynndale Park Amphitheater, located at 18927 72nd Avenue W. in Lynnwood. In case of rain, the performance is moved indoors to Lynndale Elementary School Gym, located at 7200 191st Street SW in Lynnwood.

This free, one hour performance is part of the Mervyn’s Wonderstage Performance Series for Youth and is suitable for 5-11 year olds and their families. The series is sponsored by the Lynnwood Arts Commission and City of Lynnwood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, Mervyn’s and by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission.
