A 38-year-old Lynnwood man who allegedly attacked a woman and forced her to drive around with him in her car was charged Dec. 16 with first-degree kidnapping.

Timothy David Walker was being held on $100,000 bail in the Nov. 22 attack, which started at a gas station in the 14800 block of Highway 99.

Police responded to a retail store in Lynnwood where they found the woman crying. She had a visible injury under her left eye. An employee of the store, she left on a break to vacuum her car at the gas station, and was confronted by a man holding two baseball bats and a large hunting knife.

She told police that the man grabbed her by the hair and smashed her face into the steering wheel. Then he forced her into the passenger seat and he drove up and down Highway 99 for about an hour.

She told police he was extremely agitated and appeared to have mood swings, deputy prosecutor John Adcock said. He repeatedly threatened her, Adcock added.

He eventually returned to the gas station and let the woman go.

Walker was arrested a short time later at his Lynnwood home, Adcock said. He told officers that “I kidnapped that girl, but didn’t take anything from her.” When officers said he didn’t have to say anything, he responded that he didn’t care because “I’m going to jail anyway.”
